Vision and Values

At Stoke St Michael Primary School, our Vision and Values lies in our deep-rooted generational ties, our close-knit community, and our commitment to fostering the growth and development of each child in a nurturing environment. Our approach is akin to the journey of a bird taking flight—emphasizing collaboration, support, and the potential for each child to soar.

“Together we are proud, together we are STOKE,” captures the essence of our school’s spirit.

Our core values Successful, Trustworthy, Original, Kind, Equal (STOKE) underpin this:

Successful

We equip your child with the skills and knowledge they need to reach new heights. By providing a comprehensive and enriching curriculum, we ensure that every child can achieve their fullest potential and feel a sense of accomplishment.

Trustworthy

Our school is built on a foundation of trust, much like the reliance birds have on their flock. We create a secure and supportive environment where pupils, staff, and parents can collaborate with confidence and integrity.

Original

Celebrating individuality is central to our ethos. Just as each bird has its unique flight path, we encourage creativity and originality in your child, allowing them to explore their interests and develop their distinct talents.

Kind

Kindness is woven into the fabric of our school community. We foster a caring atmosphere where compassion and respect are paramount, ensuring that everyone feels valued and included.

Equal

Equality is essential in our diverse and inclusive environment. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all, promoting fairness, and celebrating the unique contributions of every member of our school community.

Our ties to the local quarry and Mandates Hills, along with our generational legacy, form the heart of our identity. Stoke St Michael is not just a school; it is a place where families grow, generations connect, and children are inspired to aspire.

At Stoke St Michael, being part of our family means embarking on an inspiring journey together. Your child is encouraged to spread their wings and achieve great things, supported by a community that values and uplifts them.

Protected Characteristics

We work to ensure that our children understand that:

  • There are no outsiders at Stoke St Michael Primary and Nursery School
  • Everyone is different
  • We celebrate our differences
  • We are all equal in our differences

The Equality Act became law in 2010. It covers everyone in Britain and protects people from discrimination, harassment and victimisation. Everyone in Britain is protected. This is because the Equality Act protects people against discrimination because of the protected characteristics that we all have.
